City Website Redesign Kicks Off
Earlier this year, LimeLight Marketing was selected by the City of Pittsburg to redesign the City’s website.
Founded in 2015 by Brandee Johnson, LimeLight Marketing focuses on website strategy, digital marketing, and brand development for companies, universities, non-profits, and public services organizations all over the United States.
“Partnering with the City of Pittsburg is a huge win for us,” says Johnson. “Everyone on my team lives in this community, so it’s important that we contribute to making Pittsburg a great place to live, visit, and do business.”
The City’s primary goal in the project is to make the site easier to navigate and to grow the number and types of users.
“Our website is a reflection of our City,” says Jay Byers, Pittsburg assistant city manager. “We need it to be easy to use so our residents can find city information and make utility payments, and at the same time it needs to tell our story to potential visitors, residents, and businesses.”
The site currently includes over 400 pages, which the project will address through careful culling of content to keep only what’s current, improved navigation to access information and services, and a new, modern design in keeping with the City’s brand. Also included is the creation of a new management system that enables city employees to easily and quickly update any part of the site.
LimeLight Marketing was selected and approved by the City Commission from a pool of companies responding to the City’s request for proposals. “LimeLight Marketing submitted the best proposal and has great ideas for improving our City’s online presence,” said Byers. “The fact that they’re a local agency means dollars stay in Pittsburg. And it doesn’t hurt that they’re just a few blocks from our office, so collaboration will be easy and fast.”
The new site will launch in the spring, with ongoing improvements in the months that follow. We are currently in the process of creating content and building out the website. Subscribe to our blog for more updates on the City of Pittsburg website redesign and news on the launch of it.
